Top 5 Most Expensive Paints


Art is not just a bunch of colors strategically placed on a canvas. It is rather a mode of communication between the mind of the painter and the soul of the viewer of that master piece. The paintings made by the famous people are very expensive some of them are;
5, 1948 by Jackson Pollock
Jackson Pollock famous as an abstract expressionist made it in 1948. The top colors used are brown and yellow. First it was displayed in Museum of Modern Art and was owned by Samuel Irving and then it was sold to David Geffen who again sold it to David Martinez in 2006. Now the painting is of worth $155.3 million.

This painter started to paint this painting in 1951 and was completed in 1953. This shows that it took two years to finish this painting. It was a part of   Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art collection and then after the revolution it was displayed in 1979. It was first sold in 1994 and then in 2006 it was bought by Steven A. Cohen. Now this painting is of $152.5 million.

One of the most expensive portraits made by Gustav Klimt was completed in 1907. It was completed in three years. The painting was made in Vienna. The concept of this painting was got by the event when Nazis occupies Austria. The painting was first of $137 million in 2006 and recently it was sold of worth $148 million.      

Garcon a la Pipe by Pablo Picasso           
A painting made by the famous painter Pablo Picasso was painted in 1905. Pablo was 24 years old when he painted this painting. This painting has a Parisian boy who is wearing a garland of flowers. He is also holding a pipe in his hand. It is still present in Sotheby’s at New York. Lastly it was sold of worth $123.1 million.

It was painted in 1889 which was sold of more than $105 million. Joseph Roulin was Van Gogh’s friend so he painted Joseph Roulin’s painting.  This painting is from the series of paintings by Vincent Van Gogh, called “The Roulin Family.
